Reporting to the Vice-President, Construction, the incumbent will be responsible for the smooth running, full supervision and coordination of all stages of one or more construction projects, particularly in terms of controlling project schedules, budgets and quality. The incumbent must have relevant experience in the construction of large-scale residential projects of 8 to 25 storeys and have managed projects of $50 million or more.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and controlling projects in terms of deadlines, budgets and quality
  • Participating in the tendering and contract award process
  • Planning and participating in meetings with various professionals
  • Planning and leading site coordination meetings
  • Assessing problems that may arise during project execution and being proactive in resolving them
  • Negotiate agreements with various suppliers and resources for project completion
  • Coordinating the various parties involved in the project, including professionals, subcontractors, the superintendent and the interior finishing foreman
  • Ability to optimize activities to reduce budgets while meeting project deadlines
  • Promote overall customer satisfaction
  • Report to management on project follow-up
  • Carry out all other responsibilities and/or tasks related to this position

Experience required

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years' experience as a project manager
  • Successfully demonstrated experience in a complete construction cycle for a large-scale condominium and/or multi-residential rental project ($50 million or more-8 to 25 storeys)
  • Solid knowledge of building mechanics, electricity and architecture
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, civil engineering or architecture (or any combination of relevant experience and training)

  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and stress
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to maintain positive relations with customers and internal and external stakeholders
  • Foster a healthy and harmonious working environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook), Autocad, Revit (an asset),
  • PlanGrid (an asset) and Office 365 (an asset)
  • Very good command of written and spoken French
  • Bilingual (an asset)
